Cold Lunar Tears
Crawling around in the filth that is his madness
Looking for things he can never find
Scattered across the floor are his memories
And the walls are his blinded mind
Almost at the brink of uncertainty
But always clinging to that bit of hope
Soon it's too late to sit and ponder
For who knows if he'll slit his throat
Crying for the moon
Reaching for the stars
His faith has been misplaced and spread among us all
Screaming out in anger
Constantly in pain
And suddenly you hear him weep in shame
Cold lunar tears
Watching as the hours are passing him by
Thinking of all the things he could have
If he'd done right from the start
And realised how it all fell apart
All his attempts have failed in misery
Spent most of his time drinking his anguish away
Another start just to lower the bar
Finding a grasp but he can't hold it because of the strain
Crying for the moon
Reaching for the stars
His faith has been misplaced and spread among us all
Screaming out in anger
Constantly in pain
Then you hear him crying out again
Cold lunar tears running down the side of his face
A looming feeling or a bad day?
He picks up a knife running his finger down its blade
Ready to make it go all away
But a last minute decision, got a change of his mind
Looks around the room maybe it's all okay
He sees a vision pass his mind, his greatest idea
How wonderful now he will be saved
Then he looks down to his waist in disbelief
That deadly blade had pierced him
Maybe he managed to change his mind
But certainly not his heart
Looking for things he can never find
Scattered across the floor are his memories
And the walls are his blinded mind
Almost at the brink of uncertainty
But always clinging to that bit of hope
Soon it's too late to sit and ponder
For who knows if he'll slit his throat
Crying for the moon
Reaching for the stars
His faith has been misplaced and spread among us all
Screaming out in anger
Constantly in pain
And suddenly you hear him weep in shame
Cold lunar tears
Watching as the hours are passing him by
Thinking of all the things he could have
If he'd done right from the start
And realised how it all fell apart
All his attempts have failed in misery
Spent most of his time drinking his anguish away
Another start just to lower the bar
Finding a grasp but he can't hold it because of the strain
Crying for the moon
Reaching for the stars
His faith has been misplaced and spread among us all
Screaming out in anger
