Family Bible
This family Bible tells our tale
Of life between Heaven and Hell
Brand new song of every baby's wail
Every toll of the chapel bell
Granny had the night shift on the phones
At dawn, come home to a girl, 8 years old
Cooking breakfast for a baby and 5 more
Daddy went to God a year before
Those seven children grew up strong
Just like them, we move along
Wrapped in love from their mother's heart
Held safe in the Father's arms
When she died, the angels played
Bagpipes at the pearly gates
Her name was written on St. Peter's page
Earned her place a thousand ways
They would dance the night away
At this same kind of honky tonk pace
Till the Father rung the end of day
Making heaven one hell of a place
Well those children grew up strong
Just like them, we dance along
Wrapped in love from their mother's heart
Held safe in the Father's arms
They're still dancing to the family song
Just like them, we dance along
Wrapped in love from your mother's heart
Held safe here in my arms
Family Bible sings this tune
And we'll sing it till our face turns blue
It's the song of me and you
And you'll keep singing when I go too
Of life between Heaven and Hell
Brand new song of every baby's wail
Every toll of the chapel bell
Granny had the night shift on the phones
At dawn, come home to a girl, 8 years old
Cooking breakfast for a baby and 5 more
Daddy went to God a year before
Those seven children grew up strong
Just like them, we move along
Wrapped in love from their mother's heart
Held safe in the Father's arms
When she died, the angels played
Bagpipes at the pearly gates
Her name was written on St. Peter's page
Earned her place a thousand ways
They would dance the night away
At this same kind of honky tonk pace
Till the Father rung the end of day
Making heaven one hell of a place
Well those children grew up strong
Just like them, we dance along
Wrapped in love from their mother's heart
Held safe in the Father's arms
They're still dancing to the family song
Just like them, we dance along
Wrapped in love from your mother's heart
Held safe here in my arms
Family Bible sings this tune
And we'll sing it till our face turns blue
It's the song of me and you
And you'll keep singing when I go too
