Not Much Else

I get on my way at 7:30 every day. Not much else to say
It's a short highway. Seems busier every day. Not much else to say
You've got these eyes I want to call divine. I want to call them mine
You take what you get. I think life is what's left with weekends for the blessed

Sometimes I stumble, walk or crawl. You scream you want to have it all
When you dig something you can't take. Sometimes there's not much else to say

We've all had dreams. We've all had schemes. We've screamed silent screams
The folly of chance. Dance the everyman dance. I hope you didn't have plans

Sometimes I stumble, walk or crawl. You scream you want to have it all
Then you dig something you can't take. Sometimes there's not much else to say

And I know something about this. There's not much to go around. You want to share it
And I know when I look into those marvelous eyes there's so little I have to offer
I want more to give you. I want something more than this
I want something more than this

I feel the stumble, feel the fall. Feel the crumble, feel the call
Sometimes there's nothing left to take
Sometimes there's not much else to say
