Blight

You're not an elevated being
Beneath the ground is where I'd rather find you
Covered by crops you sought to poison
Comforted by shadows
Wrapped in bigotry so tight
You're worth nothing to the earth

Just let your ignorance grow
It'll only give me reasons
That I need to bleed you dry and let you rot
This decay inside you
The violence that you incite won't be your shield

A plague on all we are and will
Be, you're not welcome here
I won't respect a world view you built on fear
Disease will be cut out with force
And I won't be sorry when there's nothing left of you

This is a reckoning
Fallen idols won't save you now
Your blood doesn't look so pure
A closed mind was never a place to feel safe

Sit back, you brought this on yourself
Find solace in being ripped apart
You won't have the luxury to wish you were dead

These walls of pride will be your tomb
A better life will grow from your remains
Stay true to this path leading us all to ruin

Vines will grow from the barren ground
You've worked so hard to kill
Slowly slither up your spine and choke
All you know
From a worthless, insignificant source of blight

A pillar of salt
Wouldn't be enough of a warning
Just crack a smile
And cover your eyes
As your own ignorance
Buries you
