Shovel!

People always ask me what I love the most
About living in a country where we like to boast
Of the weather that we have in Spring when the
Flowers are out and the birds all sing

Days are getting longer and the nights are cool
So the bugs don't bite while we playin' April fool
Kids are playing hockey in the street, and the
Maple syrup just tastes so sweet
People are smiling as they start to roam, 'cause
Suddenly they don't have to stay home and shovel

When summertime comes around, we like to
Sing along at the festival grounds
On patios folks are havin' a glass, while the
Evening breeze sure smells like grass

When we're feeling hot and start to bake, we
Know that we can always go and jump in the lake
We can float away on our summer dream, and think of
Cheering on our favorite soccer team
Having so much fun playing in the sun, we
Conveniently forgot that we no longer have to run and shovel

Whoa whoa whoa shovel
We don't have to run and shovel
That's the good thing about summer, we
Don't shovel, even if the bugs bite - we don't have to shovel

When the time for picking apples has already begun, the
Bears are catching salmon on their spawning run
Get a sugar high from eating pumpkin pie
Geese are 'formatting' way up in the sky
The kids are all excited about Halloween they can
Stuff more candy than you've ever seen
Don't you forget that we invented basketball, or that the
Colors in our trees are just so pretty in the fall
Though there's hockey playing on the TV, we're
Still so shocked when we're snowed in and suddenly we gotta shovel

Whoa whoa whoa shovel for the next six months we gotta
Shovel oh yeah we love to skate and ski and slide
Shovel, well what you gonna do, don't you sit there and stew
Go and treat yourself to a brand new shovel
