It Just Takes Time
Everybodys talking about the same damn things
A carousel of conversation without the golden rings
Life started to get a little better Till the statehouse went a blaze
It was another pire in this dumpster fire leaving me in total haze
Some say I'm only 23 and these things they just take time
But they all had their fun before and I want to have mine
'Cuz the city's not as bright at night since broadway closed its doors
There's nothing to do, we've got the blues, and we're lying on the floor
As we hope, hope, hope for the for the times to change
And we wait, wait, wait, till we go insane
For our second refrain and the summer rain
That heals the pain
From all the work, work, work, every day and night
Oh my, my, my, what a dreadful sight
But it's alright we know this fight
It just takes time
Most of my friends live at their parent's homes which used to be so sad
'Cept I'm the one now paying rent while the whole world's going mad
Leave it to me to pick a great city while it's at it's all time worst
We're hanging around this empty town that the newsmen say is cursed
At least I have more time to think about what else could go wrong
Hey look at that, a heart attack, it couldn't have been long
As if things couldn't leave you more confused it turns out you're doing fine
You thought you'd die but your body lied, so sit back, enjoy some wine
As we hope, hope, hope for the for the times to change
And we wait, wait, wait, till we go insane
For our second refrain and summer rain that heals the pain
From all the work, work, work, every day and night
Oh my, my, my, it's a dreadful sight
But it's alright we know this fight
It just takes time
So what's next I think it's safe to say that no one really knows
But I'm getting pretty tired of the same old Netflix shows
Too bad for winter, and that other thing, that's keeping us inside
If we were free, you'd bet we'd be sitting back in a warm tide
But now we hope, hope, hope for the for the times to change
And we wait, wait, wait, till we go insane
For our second refrain and summer rain that heals the pain
From all the work, work, work, every day and night
Oh my, my, my, it's a dreadful sight
