Thirty Three and Died for It

well he was only twenty-one and fell for it
but the bible said he'd go to hell for it
yet it seems so amazing that a man could die that way
what a horrible price to pay
for sin

well she was only seventeen and fell for it
but the devil knew she'd go to hell for it
yet it seems so amazing that a girl should perish that way
what a horrible price to pay
especially when there's a way out

and the clouds came and covered the sun
and the world was a darkened place
spinning and spinning around
silently without a sound
and where's the love to be found

well he was only thrity-three and died for it
but the lord knew he'd pay the price for it
yet it seems so amazing that a man could die that way

for sin

well they were still very young and into it
when the lord called them out from under it
yet it seems so amazing that their lives could change that way
now they're living another way
nothing can take them away

and the clouds rolled away from the sun
and the world was enlightened by him
walking and living in him
no more in bondage to sin
and jesus has filled us with him
