View Down the Speedway

The view down the speedway has left me now
The overgrown photography bleeds out of this town
And we've yet to see how all these memories change our start
I've lost them now

But back there before all the other worlds
I could ride on the highway and see the signs
But they're not the same as here

Absently some robber came out to meet me
He took a long look tryna be real discreet
Then he ran off with another crime, or piece of my mind
The old world dies, but it's no surprise
Cause the new divorce was made to fill this passed set of time
But as the fog is creeping in
Oh heaven meet me with nothing there

The silhouette makes scorching deaths of my own mind
Leaves a trail I cannot see
Obscures the signs I used to read
He's serpentine and dearly mine, dismissing everything he needs

But my hopes not lost if I look out the window
The thieves on the street crying out like a picture
When the stereo wanders off and leaves its endless tune
It's been many years sat aging in this synthetic room

But oh in the other world I could ride
On the highways, yeah, and see the signs
But they're not as beautiful when I find another
Memories don't pass, still I fail to consider
How the burnt wind blows, why I think with my eyes closed
See the shadow men on the street they look pretty
