Flame and Fang

You may not know, that I was a warrior
In another life of my own
No hero of sagas though, the truth be told
My great battle was fought alone

Exploring far wilds, saw below, settlement
Unlike any our own kind would know
Horrible creatures building terrible things
Which had to be dealt a swift, fatal blow
The land around, wrecked, torn out like your prey's neck
The place stank of tar, and cloth, and oil
And the beings themselves, it's difficult to tell
For the face alone would make your tail coil

Fire and claw
Their meat in my jaws
Feeling the buzz of the projectiles
Fang into flesh
No pause and no rest
Red magic surges through blood and bile

Furless and flat-nosed
Wrapped with cloth like cadavers
These wild-eyed and wingless foes
Crude blades and crossbows
Torn and twisted savannah
Ripped them apart in their droves
Smash, and dash
Fire-claw slash
Power tingling, from tooth, to claw, to tail
Alive and in peril, knowing I couldn't fail

Looking back, I think the last
May just have tried to ask 'why'
But you know how this world hungers
For the souls that fall from the sky

Fire and claw
Their meat in my jaws
Feeling the buzz of the projectiles
Fang into flesh
No pause and no rest
Red magic surges through blood and bile
Fire and claw
Their meat in my jaws
Feeling the buzz of the projectiles
Fang into flesh
No pause and no rest
Red magic surges through blood and bile
