Nation's On Fire

The nation's on fire
It's a burning down sinking ship
The streets are on fire
We've got a vacuum of leadership
The people mobilized
They can't stand by and witness it
The nation's on fire
Whatcha gonna do bout it

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We've reached a critical mass

Authoritarianism
A trumped up piece of shit
Racial inequality
The powder keg has been lit
Tear gas and bullets
Can't begin to silence it
The nation's on fire
Whatcha gonna do about it

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We've reached a critical mass

I don't care what race those 4 cops were
They are still murderers
It is another scenario where the police pre-judiciously murdered an unarmed black man
From my perspective, their background is inconsequential
What is consequential is that: statistically black people are more likely to incarcerated And killed by the police than any other group
That is the systemic issue that has been brought to national attention by this particular Tragedy
Rest In Peace George Floyd
Your name will not be forgotten
Rest In Peace Ahmaud Arbery
Your name will not be forgotten
Rest In Peace Breonna Taylor
Your name will not be forgotten
Rest In Peace Eric Garner
And every other soul who's been slain by the police
Your tragedies will not been forgotten

It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
It's time for a change
