The Horizon

I had a dream from which I couldn't wake
I had this feeling I couldn't seem to shake
And I've been wondering for a long long time
Are my bones just meant to ache

I crossed the bridge to see the old me
He didn't recognize my face
Yeah I live somewhere else now
Another time another place

He wouldn't open up the door
No he wouldn't let me in
Was he expecting less or more?
He seems to wonder where I've been

Every lock seems to have a key
Which one opens up my story
I've been trying to write a new page
Gotta find my place on this stage

If you just lay it all on the line
Is it really gonna be fine?
And when the sea begins to sink
Will treading water buy me time?

Now the dust begins to clear
And I can finally see the line drawn
Between the beauty and the pain
Is that what keeps me moving on?

Through the trees across the hills
I caught a glimpse of the horizon
This feeling gives me chills
I see a new sun rising
