It was in the little country church
Not so many years ago
I Went in there to praise my Lord that night
That old fashioned way you know
At the old time altar I knelt down
And began to weep and pray
Jesus spoke to me while I was there
And my burden rolled away

I know all about it when King Jesus saved my soul
Words cannot make me doubt
I'm happy in the Lord and free and whole
He will not forsake neither I won't forbid to pray
All to Him I pledge

I surrendered everything to Him just to stand for truth and right
I remember when He saved my soul
And He pardoned me that night
Everybody seems to be so glad they were shouting all around
Praise His holy Name I am redeemed and my soul is glory bound
