Man in the Mist

On a fairy tale kind of night
I was in a state of pure delight
And there I mingled with a man in the mist
He looked so gentle I could not resist
He was speaking of a time that passed
I was lost in his green eyes of glass

A space worn traveller was the man in the mist
As though he spoke through all the lips he'd kissed
(He walks)
Like a panther
(He sways)
Like a flower
(He leaves)
Like a ghost and just like that back in an hour
(He creeps)
Though the streets and he's diggin' the action
(He lives)

Day to day in his own special way
He gets what he wants and that's the attraction
Take your candle come and light the way
Lead these people to a brighter day

I'll be following the man in the mist
He's got diamonds on his fingertips
(He walks)
Like a panther
(He sways)
Like a flower
(He leaves)
Like a ghost and just like that back in an hour
(He creeps)
Though the streets and he's diggin' the action
(Far out)
East to west the best of the best
The king of the ring that old fashion swing
