Something to Know

There are blemishes on my cheek
On the side of my face that I cannot turn to change
Due to the nature of my sleep
I've got these dark stains that will not wash away

It's something to know
That I don't really know and that not knowing is something
And the nature of my sleep
Makes it so that I don't miss important things

Something pays attention for me
When I'm dreaming, but I'm not dreaming all the time
Something is a stand in for my mind
When nothing's happening, something's there all the time

I am not a ghost, not yet
The transfer is designed to make you forget
That nothing doesn't exist
As an option for very long

So the real issue is finding a balanced spot in this physical world
And finding people who will share our thoughts
Finding people who avoid harm at all costs
And finding our people

It's something to know
That I don't really know and that not knowing is something
And the nature of my sleep
Makes it so that I don't miss important things

Something pays attention for me
When I'm dreaming, but I'm not dreaming all the time
Something is a stand in for my mind
When nothing's happening, something's there all the time

Something pays attention for me
When I'm dreaming, but I'm not dreaming all the time
Something is a stand in for my mind
When nothing's happening, something's there all the time
