The View From The Summit
They looking at me but you looking confused
This nothing new I just do what it do
I'm new and improved and that's the whole mood
We got the same building but not the same views
The view from the summit my nigga, so sick how I done it my nigga
Sick to my stomach my nigga, the view from the summit, the view from the summit
Look who done did it it's PatChat, let's take a second and backtrack
To the older days, them lonely days, ate lunch alone it was the only way
To find myself so I could fight myself and only then I wasn't by myself
Raised by the belt mom didn't spare the rod RIP to my mental health
But she meant me well, always wished me well, I flipped a coin down the wishing well
I took my chances and did all I could then with bated breath I awaited death
I prayed Amen, what was I thinking then? Suicide
Walk around, head down. Where was my dad? Heading out
Out the country, then back home, such is the life of a Black home
I lacked backbone in that home but through depression I had grown
When my father died I accepted it and when I die I'm expecting it
Controversial, quirky, and super nerdy but put that work in they're respecting it
How my ethic is, near perfectionist but I won't lie and say it's been effortless
So excellent how I turned out, never burned out and still developing
I'm a legend in the making, breaking out the mold I'm rebelling
Breaking down the old onto the next, share with those who share my sentiment
I may talk exotic but I talk my truth I don't shoot rounds I throw for a loop
Just peep my phonics and hear my voice the hardest path that's my clearest choice
Don't give a fuck if it's fuck me or love me when you judge me
That's lovely, that's just speech, and at the end of the day it's just me
Laying down in my bed with demons playing in my head
I said at the top there's two things, myself and my bread
They looking at me but you looking confused
This nothing new I just do what it do
I'm new and improved and that's the whole mood
We got the same building but not the same views
The view from the summit my nigga, so sick how I done it my nigga
Sick to my stomach my nigga, the view from the summit, the view from the summit
