White Cedar

A tree trembled with a tension
An anxious alerted apprehension
When a strong wind descended through the dense forest
It was a gust that developed a disdain for us

By blowing your dark hair across your face
Your smile shone through and helped to erase

The low and the longing I've had for seven years
Alone and withholding all of my deepest fears
Then all of a sudden the forest went still
The hush of the air; an imposing will

"Silence" it whispered, and I felt it getting colder
Don't take me for granted, we're all getting older

Out of nowhere, a tree did fall
A white cedar, an old one, majestic and tall
The warmth came back and the colour too
You looked at me; I looked directly at you

"Did you feel that?" we said simultaneously
If it were just me
I'd be crazy, maybe
I'd be crazy, maybe
I'd be crazy, I'd be crazy
Maybe
I'd be crazy, I'd be crazy
Maybe
I'd be crazy, I'd be crazy
Maybe?
