John Lennon Spoke To Me

Last night, I had the strangest dream
My father spoke to me... I'm not kidding!
He said
"You know, someday you'll be great...
But not for what you're doing
Here and now, or on stage."
Well, fuck, I guess, thanks?
I know lately I've had trouble
Picking diamonds from the rubble
But I'll never love another
Like my daughters and their mother
And I'll tell you something else
Becoming a father
Made me wish I knew mine better
And my brothers
Sometimes I miss my brothers
Death has shown me
Who I am
What I lack
And what I see in others

Last night, I had the strangest dream
John Lennon spoke to me
He said
"Imagine Yoko... in bed
Japanese wives give the best head."
"What a strange thing to say," I muttered
"Oh, ok..." he stuttered
His eyes rolled back
His face mutated to look like mine
He spoke again
With a devilish charm
And a childlike grin
"I want to sleep inside of you"
I woke up in a cold sweat
Took a deep breath and a drink of water
And went back to bed
