One Night

The mountains don't seem too tall now
One wrong foot will cause a fall down
Pocket full of rocks, haven't got the time to think
If I go ahead and jump, my body's gonna sink
If I take the time to stay, my body melts away
The storm will rip me up and leave me on the floor, decay

I wish that i could maybe try to float
But the past won't stay behind and I can't leave it in the boat
Tell my friends I'm sorry, but this has to be done
Between fight or flight, its sink or swim, I'm tired of the run
I told you maybe one night
I won't be there when you wake
What's next is overwhelming
What's past was a mistake
Tell my friends I'm sorry, but this has to be done
Between fight or flight, its sink or swim, I'm tired of the run

The past the pain
The memory train
Trees are faded
Blinding haze
Tell me it was worth it
Make it seem like its not worthless
I
Can't admit defeat if i don't know who I'm fighting
If I'm socially depriving
Maybe show me where the light is
I
Wanted to be better but I'm battling myself
Everything i ever wanted out of reach upon the shelf
If i climb the mountain higher
To reach and to achieve
The rocks may crack below my feet
And I'm caught up in the breeze

I wish you knew the better me
The me I wish I could've been
The me that only you could see
Just take my hand and set me free
I'm tired of being worthless, and I'm tired of being scared
I'm tired of getting lost. You're the only one who's cared

But maybe that's just me
And sometimes that's just fine
I'll find a different mountain
One less hard to climb
I'll try to overcome it
And maybe you will see
The future's never perfect
But there's always You and Me
I'll build myself a mountain
Build it higher than the rest
I'll show you that I'm worth it
A mountain to depend
A mountain you can climb
A mountain for you and I
A mountain to represent all the struggles we can fight
And up upon that mountain
We can build ourselves a home
A house in which together we will never feel alone
To stop our rocks from breaking
We will cement them to the ground
May we never feel unsteady above the sea I nearly drowned
The dock across the shore sits the boat holding my past
The anchor can be lifted so it can sail away at last
The boat begins to move, it's journey has begun
Between fight or flight, I chose to swim, I was tired of the run
