Summer Dies

Summer dies
With the pain and the lies from the past
Wallows in lust
In memories that all turn to dust

Crimson leaves
Are painting the boulevard
In colors of hope
Like a funeral to a sun that set long ago

It Finally ends, an era of wrath
What will become in the aftermath

Heavy clouds
Seem to cover the sky in deep gray
Cooling the ground
Oppressing the crowds, obscuring the sun

Naked trees
Are shivering, from the cold
Tilting their spines
Just begging for a warm ray of light

Where are you, my dangerous man
Missing the love of the beating hands

Vicious rays of light burning my skin
Mistaken for how love is supposed to feel
