Decorations
if my life was stripped of all its decorations
i'd live in a cabin in the forest
i'd wake before dawn and roast game on an open fire
rarely speak to anyone
but as it is i live in a city
with thousands
of people
and gadgets
and lights
it's nice but the crowds can be awful loud
and i wonder what
peace feels like
I'm a Christmas tree
drowning in ribbons
and tinsel and ornaments
lit up and beautiful
but it's all so seasonal
dead at the root and thirsty
i'd live in a cabin in the forest
i'd wake before dawn and roast game on an open fire
rarely speak to anyone
but as it is i live in a city
with thousands
of people
and gadgets
and lights
it's nice but the crowds can be awful loud
and i wonder what
peace feels like
I'm a Christmas tree
drowning in ribbons
and tinsel and ornaments
lit up and beautiful
but it's all so seasonal
dead at the root and thirsty
