April

Listening to raindrop symphonies
Held on by an unseen harmony
Tells me I'm right where I belong
Pull me in closer
Give me some closure, so
I can pick up the pace
Tryin' to organize my brain
But it's all over the place
And I'm fallin' down like rain
Still waiting, to bloom
Just not today
But I would never change the way things are
Even if I knew it'd leave a scar
All the pain comes through in waves
And all I have to say
Is that I'm movin' past this wall
Didn't think I'd get to here at all
Though I don't believe
In destiny, I guess that it was just meant to be
Maybe it's just me
Facin' the gravity of
My own integrity
And insecurities
Although my mind tends to
Fall into retrograde
I look ahead and all those
Memories begin to fade
But I would never change the way things are
Even if I knew it'd leave a scar
All the pain comes through in waves
And all I have to say
Is that I'm movin' past this wall
Didn't think I'd get to here at all
Though I don't believe
In destiny, I guess that it was just meant to be
As the symphony plays
I've learned to hum along
April will pass
Always
