I Live Inside My Poems

Silence fills up with my prayers
My bones are lead, but I'm barely there

Words just keep my spirit hid
The breath of God, that's all there is

'Many footsteps till I rest
As each one falls, I know I'm blessed

I'd be a fool to walk alone
So I live inside my poems

Ups and downs play like the waves
An inkwell night, a golden day

And after winters, summers rise
To summarize, I'm not surprised

That there are times I'm feeling low
But even then, I know I know

I'd be a fool to walk alone
So I live inside my poems

Nightfall always comes to land
The Moon just laughs at all our plans
An ancient truth outgrew
The maps we drew
And in the darkness
We're open-hearted
And we can let the next thing through...

And so I'm called back by my dreams
I won't live life through silver screens

Inner worlds just can't be taken
As deep as oceans, the Earth is quaking

With the changing of our souls
This aching new, it feels so old

I'd be a fool to walk alone
So I live inside my poems
