Not His Angel

Another day starts with a smile.
The man is sleeping next to her side.
She rises first to make his meal,
She feels so honored to be in his life.

The light reflecting off her ring,
Awakens a memory when fidelity was a vow.
She sees a shadow in the hall,
It's the one who caused all this loneliness.

He asks for a moment of her time
She paused and then she obliged, what is it now?
He spews his dishonesty, his bullshit story
With a curve to the end of his smile.

She pulled away as fast as light
He chased her and she begged for her life
He said why must you resist?
Come on Angel, don't be like this.
She pushed him down and stood with pride
And with the most piercing eyes, she said:

I will not take this lying down
Even though you're still around
I'm not your Angel anymore.

I will not take this from you
I didn't know you were cruel
I'm not your Angel anymore.

I will not lay down and cry
You broke me inside
I'm not your Angel anymore.

I will not see you again
Even though you were my friend.
I'm not your Angel anymore.
