Room on Fire

I woke up and the room was on fire
The flames licked the side of my face
But I wanted to stay in my bed for awhile
So I asked it to please go away
And because I asked nicely It left me alone
But it burned all my clothes as I slept
It burned down the desk and it burned down the dresser
Now the ashes are all I have left

Won't somebody please be a friend
And tell me when all of this ends

Pull your hands from your neck
Try to take a few breaths
If it's all you have left it's okay
And if you're ever alone
You can pick up the phone
Even if you have nothing to say
Will you talk to me anyway

In summer the sun doesn't do any favors
From its heavenly home in the sky
The city gets under your skin like a razor
And it doesn't leave much left inside

And the whole thing is coming apart
I don't even know where to start

Pull your hands from your neck
Try to take a few breaths
If its all you have left it's okay
And if you're ever alone
You can pick up the phone
Even if you have nothing to say

Will you talk to me anyway
