I woke this morning with a dream
We saved the world from what is worse than fate
We're drowning in our excess
And wasting In our apathy
The world of science agrees
IPCC provided the clarity
And faith decrees responsibility
Can't hide this unique unity
The judge and jury
Returned the verdict
We're guilty

Can't you see
Through the glass of time
What the world will be
That we leave behind for our kids
Please don't say you only care when
The price is right for you

The age of innocence and naivety is through
Our quality is left for humanity to prove

One by one they fall away
Delay the good fight for another day
The cause is great but we had to say
It all came too much when we had to pay
The ball's been dropped in society
And our government is running away

Can't you see
Through the glass of time
What the world will be
That we leave behind for our kids
Yet we run away
Now the global head must bow down in shame

Please don't say
The price of justice is too great

So now it's time to start again
Transform the way we live
And save the shame of killing what we've made
It's time today to make that little change
I want to stay within a place
Where my offspring will not be afraid
The children will not thank us for
The legacy we gave
They'll hate
Don't want them to be afraid
It's not too late
Find freedom and placate your need
To shape the world in greater ways
