Cabin By a Lake

There's a cabin by a lake
It's pretty lonesome these days
Not like when I was young
It shined like the morning sun

My daddy built it with his hands
With the help of his friends
He don't see them much these days
My how times have changed

That old log cabin
Nestled in the trees
Looking so lonesome
Waiting for some company

We would fish until it was dark
then back to the cabin to play cards
Lit by a lantern and some candles
Country music on the radio

That old chimney used to smoke
We would stay warm by the stove
Now the ambers have gone cold
That old cabin sits alone

That old log cabin
Nestled in the trees
Looking so lonesome
Waiting for some company
