Forgiven of Much

(That's the Word) But to whom little is forgiven

See, I use to have a chip on my shoulder,

New chick every day, even through catchin' diseases

All of a sudden, I was cuttin' up like it wasn't nothin'
Before it was bad, but now I'm really in a rut and
It's like a rug getting shampooed, then I track the mud in
I see clear, I'm clean now, got it together
Right? So why do I be sinnin',
I'm supposed to know better... but...

See, I'm tellin' you, it's difficult to be forgiving
When they trip on ya
Like they drivin' from Detroit
All the way to California
They always tryin' to play ya, and they treat you unfair
Like when they borrow money, and they never repay ya
Oh don't let you have a need, 'cause they won't even care
They walk all over you, like they mistook you for a stair
Tell you they ain't got no money, when they be bankin'
They treat you like a toilet, 'cause they leavin' you stankin'
Gossip about you, and all your secrets, they blabbin'
Smilin' in your face, but your back, they be stabbin'
What they say, and what they do is always a contradiction
A sellout, and they be actin' phony as fiction
Hard to trust, 'cause they'll lie to you in a second
Give you no value, and constantly disrespectin'
Better watch 'em, or they'll try to
Steal your man or your woman
They playin' you, and you thinkin' that
They got it comin'... but...

When Jesus died and cleaned up all my sins,
I'm tellin' you, it was drastic
'Cause I did so much dirt, you couldn't clean it with acid
Lookin' at what He forgave me for, all of a sudden
That little junk you did to me seem like it ain't nothin'
It's easy to forgive, knowin you been forgiven
From all the junk I did, I don't deserve to be livin'
So since I got forgiveness, I can give it for certain
And if I don't, then I'm the only one that it's hurtin'
Yo, 'cause if I don't forgive, He won't forgive me either
And then when I call Him, He won't pick up the receiver
So every time I call myself holdin' a grudge and judgin'
He ain't stuttin' me, when I pray He ain't even budgin'
I'm prayin' for nothin'? Oh no, let me get a grip and
Forgive 'em, plus God has forgiven him,
So why am I trippin?!
He's Holy, so I'm gone be holy, strivin' to please Him
He showed me mercy, so if they do me wrong,
I'ma release 'em...
