The Hand of My God

Nehemiah was faithful to Babylon's king
He said, "I am troubled. Could I ask one thing?
Send me back to Zion. I'll rebuild it well"
To the remnant of Israel began to tell

The hand of my God has been good upon me
His covenant I've kept in captivity
From the walls of great Babylon to Mount Zion free
The hand of my God has been good upon me

Like Zion of old, I forsook the Lord's face
My soul had become a dry desolate place
My gates were in ashes, my walls had caved in
But God, in his mercy, rebuilt me again

The hand of my God has been good upon me
Delivered from bondage, from sin I'm set free
Now, I'll praise his name throughout eternity
That the hand of my God has been good upon me

The foundation is solid, it's built on the Rock
I am what I am by the grace of God
Now, I'm not the one that I used to be
God's hand has been good! Come on! Sing it with me!
