Leaver's Shirt

Most our conversations started with goodbye
The only thing we had in common was a blazer and tie
The months go by and we don't seem to talk
I start to ponder over what we could have been
If I'd just opened my mouth back when we were fifteen
'Cause I don't see you at all anymore
All these years I've left so meaningless
If all I've got is your name writ' on my leaver's shirt
I sometimes feel these situations are there to waste my time
Awkward looks by the bike shed just won't suffice
She's got a boyfriend in the sixth form
Gets her in shops while I'm stuck in this uniform
These things aren't as simple as when we were young
He'll be fine though his jokes aren't original
She won't mind 'cause he's got his provisional
He lingers round at the front gate when school is done
All these years I've left so meaningless
If all I've got is your name writ' on my leaver's shirt
I sometimes feel these situations are there to waste my time
Awkward looks by the bike shed just won't suffice
To get some time alone is such a hassle but I'll try
But there isn't much else that I'd rather do
To get some time alone is such a hassle but I'll try
But there isn't much else that I'd rather do
All these years I've left so meaningless
If all I've got is your name writ' on my leaver's shirt
