No Dreams Left

Perception crumbles
Cracking and dwindling
Between reinforced concrete walls
A constant noise that mutes all voices
Of guilt-stricken limbs
That bleed suffering dry
In every breath, smell of tar
And dreams long
Gone

I saw the wires
Of a sickening mind
A system so precise
I thought of it as a paradise

Stripped of all
That makes a man
I submit a life
In shame and squalor

Keep your blessings
For we are in too deep
Order takes its roots
Within, too twined to fight

I'm subsumed
In the watchful gaze

I submit
Myself to be squeezed

The eyes within the walls
Weave my flesh anew
And in the boughs I'm reborn
To shape the jaws of men

Come, grace us
With your presence
Water the ruminant speech
And grasp the ever-falling heights
