Lotta Livin Left to Do

I'm 17 on a back porch swing,
Thinkin of all I ain't ever seen,
Like New York City, or Paris in the Spring,
This small town is all I've known,
Never found myself to far from home,
or done much at all outside the old routine,
Theres only so much a man can fit into his life,
When its time to look back,
I'll know I did it right,

I wanna feel the wind of a Chicago night,
Fall asleep on a red eye flight,
See the seven wonders of the world,
Forget that life sometimes ain't fair,
Roll the dice and say a prayer,
Look at things from a different point of view,
Theres one thing I know to be true,
I've still got a lotta livin left to do,

I'm 30 now, got a wife and kids,
My party life just hit the skids,
I tried to live but life got in the way,
I've yet to feel Seatle rain,
or sip from a glass of fine champagne,
But I'll get to it one of these days,
Theres only so much time before the clock starts tickin faster,
I wanna throw away old broken dreams,
and make the good times last,

I wanna feel the wind of a Chicago night,
Fall asleep on a Red eye flight,
See the seven wonders of the world,
Forget that life sometimes ain't fair,
Just roll the dice and say your prayers,
Look at things from a different point of view,
Theres one thing that I know to be true,
I've still got a lotta livin left to do,

Add up all my yesterdays,
and still so plain to see,
It doesn't matter where you are,
Just who you're meant to be,
I'm 85 and gettin by,
Those dreams I had have never died,
Took a lil while to realize,
That although I haven't seen the world,
I've raised the two most beautiful girls,
but for me the doctor says theres not much they can do,
I'm nowhere close to being through,
Theres still one thing left I know its true,
Oh I've got a lotta livin left to do
Still got a lotta livin left to do
I'm 17 on a back porch swing,
Thinkin of all that I ain't never seen
