All the Houses

There's a little house on the dark side of the moon
I can see it clearly and I'll show it to you
There's a cardboard house down in the alley
Where old Mr. Fox talks to Sister Sally
There's a big house up on the hill
It's been there for years and many more still
There's a house of twigs up in the trees
Where mama bird lives and feeds her chickadees

Now all the houses will come falling down
All it takes is time and shouting out loud
Cause every little noise loosens a nail
And every loose board squeaks and it wails
So if you'll mind your matters that would be very kind
I'd like to rest here and clear my mind
My mind, my mind

There's a house of blocks up in my room
And if you ask nicely I'll take you there soon
There's a house of clay in the backyard
It's next to the pool and the sun has baked it hard

Now all the houses will come falling down
All it takes is time and shouting out loud
Cause every little noise loosens a nail
And every loose board squeaks and it wails
So if you'll mind your matters that would be very kind
I'd like to rest here and clear my mind
My mind, my mind

There's a house of books up in the attic
They talk of Hobbits and Return of the King
There's a fancy house made of my dreams
You'd think you'd know it but it's not what it seems

Now all the houses will come falling down
All it takes is time and shouting out loud
Cause every little noise loosens a nail
And every loose board squeaks and it wails
So if you'll mind your matters that would be very kind
I'd like to rest here and clear my mind
My mind, my mind
