I, Me (pt. 2)
Former versions of myself
They all have come and gone
One chapter closes as the story's rolling on
But I'm not ready
I lie in bed and wonder when my story makes it end
Who would ever read it?
Will it collect dust in the vast hall of history
A tale that no one needed?
If the library collapsed in flames, everything reduced to ashes
The memory of me is gone, just like it never happened
What does this mean to me, can I say that it even matters?
Do I expect my desires to be handed on a platter?
I know
Pride comes before the fall
I fall victim to my pride
I'm building up these walls
To protect the delicate person that is inside of my mind
I, I tell myself that I'm one of a kind
In control of my actions and master of my mind
But I, am just like everyone who came before
A product of the times with doubts that I will become more
The floor comes out from underneath me
In the abyss I free fall
No one answers when I call
I'm alone with my thoughts
And I'm feeling
Like I am nothing at all
Just a pawn or a thrall
In a game that, in the end
It has no meaning
It's deceiving
Cus the message I'm receiving
Is that I can have a voice and make a play in the arena
Oh is that my ego
Telling me that I'm a hero
Of a movie being made
But the audience amounts to zero
No ones really watching
But everybody's talking
They're tryna keep the topic on themself
How it's so exhausting
It's so toxic but the truth is that
I am just like everybody else
The star lit night shines light into infinite
A universe so grandiose its unaffected by the likes of me
With its galaxies and black holes
Asteroids and the solar systems
Orbiting their sun with chance it supports living organisms
Here I am on this pale blue dot
I'm just an ant on a hill, on this floating rock who believes that
There is a God and I'm made in his image
Who created everything in the matrix I live in
That loves me entirely despite all of my flaws
And he listens to me when I call
Or is that just my ego wishing?
They all have come and gone
One chapter closes as the story's rolling on
But I'm not ready
