Satellite

I met an angel with some Broken wings
Told me God had chosen me to have the Holy Ghost take control of me
She had the charm of a Rosary
Til I realized she tore off the fourth one of the clover leaves
She put it on a spoon along with H, snow and things
Then she sparked a light and proceeded to fly overseas
And then her arm went colder than a Minnesota breeze at zero degrees
She would get so high her nose would bleed
I think about her and it mess wit my emotions, see
She's just one of all the thousand people out here on the streets
That's why I write it in my poetry
I don't need the industry's stamp of approval like they some notaries
See I will never be what all these other posers be
I'm not supposed ta be, I got the makings of a dope emcee
They think it's cool to spray the air like it's an ocean breeze
I'm just trying to guide my people back to having hopes and dreams

Took a midnight stroll down these lonely streets
Looked up, saw the moon staring back at me
Til the new day dawn she will cast a light
She told me that she'd always be my Satellite
Satellite
Satellite
Til the new day dawn she will cast a light
She told me that she'd always be my Satellite

I met a king who wore a plastic crown
Told me I should have no doubts
I had royal blood and I would pass it down
He had the smile of a battered clown
Til I realized the tear drop on his face was just to mask a frown
One day he's low on his quota, was off by half an ounce
So they had the valid grounds, disrespect is not allowed
They caught him out on the lawn with like a thousand rounds
All of the potential that he had is in a casket now
I think about his story and I find it tragic how
All these new schoolers they just don't know what they rapping about
They glorify the life, many of these black and brown
Kids tuning in just because they like the Trappy sound
And it's all for clicks for the sake of having clout
Success is a journey, everybody want the fastest route
These demons out on these streets, I'm trying to cast them out
My visions deep, all my sights they go way past the clouds

Took a midnight stroll down these lonely streets
Looked up, saw the moon staring back at me
Til the new day dawn she will cast a light
She told me that she'd always be my Satellite
Satellite
Satellite
Til the new day dawn she will cast a light
She told me that she'd always be my Satellite

I've travelled across the world
To places far away
Just to realize that Heaven
Is bout a mile away
My soul got lost in traffic
I had no right of way
I must have missed the exit

Oh light will you guide me
Oh light will you guide me
Oh light will you guide me
Oh light will you guide me
Back, home
