Moving On

When I blinked and found the morning
Saw the dark juxtaposed
Against the sun, then exposed
As just a night that's come and gone
And I know I'm moving on

Where I'd gone, I lost direction
Couldn't see my own reflection
Standing still, but many miles
I found myself after a while
In the bright, morning light

And all my haunting memories
They do not mean a thing to me
They've faded and I know I lost my marbles
But I kept my promise too
I met the night, saw it through
And so I pack my bags and I am leaving
Moving on

A world without end bargain made
Is worthless as the paper it is written on
And I was played as only fools
And mother nature's many sons
Can say the same

Who awake cannot remember
Longing for the wild fever
Dreams that in the moment broke them
Ripped them till at last awoken
Realized they're still alive
