Back in the Day
It starts with one thing, me making the beat
Like I've been doing, I started with FL Studio 3
I was using basic sounds, ain't even have VSTs
But I still thought it was dope, no-one was messing with me
Was trash in maths coz my maths book was used for raps
Wasn't bad but it was gassed because nobody was used to that
The bars were lukewarm but I thought it was cool and that
Some other dudes did too but now they just some dudes that used to rap
And I'm another one, hear these bars, I'm proving it
Dunno what's worse, them quitting or me still doing it
Coulda went corporate and coulda been tie and suiting it
Things ain't work out for the best, wont try to convince you of it
Coz I'm still tryna convince my self
Yeah yeah yeah, I know, keep grinding what else
I ain't salty, I'm just tryna keep it raw, can't you tell
As I reminisce, I want these thoughts to be felt
This that back in the day flow
Got me wondering where'd the days go
Rich and famous, yeah that's what I aimed for
No, I ain't make it but I'm still paid tho
This that back in the day flow
Got me wondering where'd the days go
Rich and famous, yeah that's what I aimed for
No, I ain't make it but I'm still paid tho
Remember ASLs when they tryna get to know you
Couple years before they'd send requests then start to poke you
If your posts weren't dope, you'd be hopin' they wouldn't roast you
Couldn't cry bout cyber bullying, you'd just learn roast too
What's drip, already did dad shoes in grade 5
The lines ain't basic, you can hear it through the bassline
I'm seldom seen, I'm not thirsty for no stage time
But on these beats, I'm catching bodies like a stage dive
Used to have to walk the talk when you were talking tough
No twitter fingers, just trigger fingers itching to bust
So beefing bout some BS wasn't being done too much
Coz things could eventually get ugly like a high school crush
As I'm writing this on my granny couch
Medicated generation, even she do Xannys now
Real talk, that is what I'm actually bout
I just have it to give it to y'all like some hand me downs
This that back in the day flow
Got me wondering where'd the days go
Rich and famous, yeah that's what I aimed for
No, I ain't make it but I'm still paid tho
