Far From Home

With every word that's said - I get a little vaguer.
Perhaps it's not the right time? Maybe I could do this better?
Don't want to waste your love - and I don't want to waste mine either.
Failed to speak my mind thus far - let's wait till after dark to fall apart...
Ok, so now its way past midnight: Needless to add that I'm in a spin,
And all because you've said we need to talk, but yet again you haven't said a thing.
Ill bite my tongue until it bleeds, (we know exactly where that leads):
Delayed healing - once again.

Knowing that there's something wrong.
Praying that the hope will re-appear.
I can only hold out for so long: full of trepidation - filled with fear.
Knowing I should set you free.
Praying that you'll walk out on your own.
I can see the city from up here: but never have I felt so far from home.

Streetlights - too bright: something doesn't feel right...
And there's a sickening in the pit of my stomach.
It resonates your name, and imitates your laughter.
Still haven't found my way: now I'm a thief, a liar.
Perhaps a coward at best?
Happily ever after...
Knowing that there's something wrong.
Praying that the hope will re-appear.
I can only hold out for so long: full of trepidation - filled with fear.
Knowing I should set you free.
Praying that you'll walk out on your own.
I can see the city from up here: but never have I felt so far from home.

Pardon me - sit yourself down.
Has to be - has to be now.
You'll be fine - it'll work out somehow...
(Pardon me - sit yourself down.
Has to be - has to be now.
You'll be fine - it'll work out somehow...)
So please, just know - It'll work out somehow.
