Never a Waste

I always feel the need to occupy my mind
I've done it no matter the cost, no matter how high
I always feel the need to keep up on my toes
Even if it's by doing the things I don't want anybody to know

And I need help
I need to learn to be ok with myself
And I need you
Much more than I need something to do

I'm always on the hunt for something that feels new
Even though writing this song is all I should do
Looking for new tasks to fill my time
Even though the ones I already have
Are all that's ever gonna really be on my mind

The past is dead and gone
The future has yet to arrive
And so the here and now
Is all I should see with my own two eyes

I'm so often filled with doubt
And all the world seems crashing down
But I know I need not fear
For someone who knows better cares

So I'll take a backseat to my guide
I will live my life and let you provide
Clothed like the flower of the field
And safe like the sparrow who need not reap the harvest's yield

In boredom and fun I know joy
Just like a young carefree boy
My time need not be priced
It's never a waste when you walk with Christ
