Stagnant Water
I have a pond in my garden
It's full of filth and dirt
It stinks so much, if you get too close
Your nostrils start to really hurt
In my pond swim three little fishies
God only knows how they survive
They feed off of scum and slime and gunk
They really seem to thrive
The smallest one of those three little fishies
He's really, really cute
Sometimes when I'm lonely, I go and watch him
He's a real beaut
He swims up and down in the stagnant water
And I just love to watch
The bigger fishies are always tryna catch him and eat him
But he can always dodge
Whenever I'm having a hard day at work
Or standing in a long line
I like to think about that smallest fishy
And how he's doing fine
If those fishies can survive in that water
And they're still ok
It gives me hope that, with a bit of effort
I'll make it through the day
It's full of filth and dirt
It stinks so much, if you get too close
Your nostrils start to really hurt
In my pond swim three little fishies
God only knows how they survive
They feed off of scum and slime and gunk
They really seem to thrive
The smallest one of those three little fishies
He's really, really cute
Sometimes when I'm lonely, I go and watch him
He's a real beaut
He swims up and down in the stagnant water
And I just love to watch
The bigger fishies are always tryna catch him and eat him
But he can always dodge
Whenever I'm having a hard day at work
Or standing in a long line
I like to think about that smallest fishy
And how he's doing fine
If those fishies can survive in that water
And they're still ok
It gives me hope that, with a bit of effort
I'll make it through the day
