The Vision

Late last night I had a vision
That filled my mind with superstition
My once clear dreams are now a haze
Ending off the pointless days

Living life in unfamiliar places
Seems to be what I would like to do
And as I look into the peoples' distorted faces
I get a feeling something's wrong
Though I still feel I belong
Yeah, I don't wanna leave my comfort dream for the thing I'm escaping from

These conversations feel too real to me
In this altered state
I can't think clearly now it's gone away
Deep within my brain
I try so hard but it just won't come to me

When you're locked inside your conscious mind
Your vanity falls as tensions rise

And so I took a step back from the feeling that I've been chasing
And I realize that everything's a mess

These conversations feel too real to me
In this altered state
I can't think clearly now it's gone away
Deep within my brain
I try so hard but it just won't come to me

In this world you have to climb
Attachments hold you far behind
You're dreaming, aching, body shaking
People stand with no ovation
Heart is pacing, mind is racing
Words I say seem fabricated
