Old Sinkin' Blues

Well I washed up on the shore about seven days before
And I started to believe it couldn't be
So I sat right back up and I took a sip from my cup
And I watched her get taken by the sea

Well I still don't know how I made it off the bow
When that ship went straight down into the bay
So I walked right into town wearing nothing but my gown
And a lady stopped to ask if I was okay

And I said oh I've got them old sinkin' blues
And you can't do nothing for me
I've seen some good times and I've been who I will be
So I've gotta get on back to the sea

I was drunk and I was scared when I found out no one cared
So I sat down at the bar for one more shot
I woke up on the floor wishing I had drank one more
Because I miss the smell of sea salt a lot

Startled once again I lay myself inside the den
And I found my way by sifting through my dreams
But I woke up right at four and I stumbled out the door
Just to find out that life ain't what it seems

And I said oh I've got them old sinkin' blues
And you can't do nothing for me
I've seen some good times and I've been who I will be
So I've gotta get on back to the sea

And I said oh I've got them old sinkin' blues
And you can't do nothing for me
I've seen some good times and I've been who I will be
So I've gotta get on back to the sea
I said I've gotta get on back to the sea
