Green

The pink clouds in the sky, they remind me of your eyes
You're slipping through my fingers like a kite, I hold on for my dear life as we get high Higher
I don't mind drifting off with you, I've got the best view
Up here I can see my home, it's where I spend my nights alone
There's nothing wrong with that's
I'm grateful to have a place to call my own
But it gets lonesome with nobody at the window pointing out the hues of changing blues

Kaleidoscopes have passed me by but in the middle of your palm I lie
I know you're not the "only" one for me
But green is all I feel inside, your moss is growing in my mind
I know that you're nobody's for the keep
Still I feel green, of every sunset that's ever seen you staring back so tenderly
Your eyes the perfect shade of green

I'll trade that envy in instead, for a lovely shade of red
It burns passionate and carelessly through our veins and in our bed
My biggest fear is at the end of all our days, it was all in my head
I'll keep it there instead
I guess yellow is how I feel inside
Just happy that you're in my life
And that's good enough for me

I can't help but feel green
Of every color in between that blossoms in your company
I think I'll always be green
You always leave them green
