The Cowboy and the Hot Air Balloon

He stepped out of the bar and into the street
When a hot air balloon swept him off his feet
He wondered to himself, "Where the hell did that come from?"
But he made a sign of the cross and prayed the kingdom come

"The son of a bitch," he swore
"Holy hell," he cried as he and that balloon rose high in the sky
Is this fate, or is it a dream?
He hung onto the basket and let out a scream
His partner came running and pulled out his gun
He took a couple of drunken shots
That balloon was too far gone

Here I go, I'm on my way
I may not last another day
I'll be fine, don't fret for me
With a little luck, I'll make it to the sea

He felt the air get thinner the higher that he rose
He saw the backs of the buzzards circling below
He climbed into the basket where it gave a might heave
He started to enjoy the ride and felt a sense of peace

Well, he figured he was safe, 'til he saw the grin
There was a grizzly bear across from him
"I'm not here to harm you," he growled through his teeth
I'm just here to take you home and offer you relief
If only you can face your fears and take me by the bar
I'll show you to the kingdom where the turquoise water falls

Hand and paw united
He was crushed by the embrace
Smell the earth and taste the sky
As he let go the human race

Here I go, I'm on my way
Though I did last another day
I'll be fine, don't fret for me
With a little luck, I'll make it to the sea
