Seasons

Summer's always waiting on the Fall
To alleviate the heat
That's become so sickly
And it makes no sense to me at all
Why we're running through
This life so quickly

And I don't think that I will ever be
Everything I could within this life expectancy
For it's all moving by so fast
Tighten my grip but it won't last

Naked trees are waiting on the snow
To come gently down
And cover them in blankets
And they spend their time achingly alone
Always reaching out
A true test of their patience

And I don't think we'll ever understand
Why God has gone and dealt you such an unforgiving hand
Though I know you can make it through
You'll keep your perseverance true

Winter's always waiting on the spring
To thaw out the ground
And give the birds a chance to sing
It's finally time to wake up from your dream
The world's out there calling
And you can be anything
