Dreamscape

I was dreaming... Or at least I thought I was
It was like some sort of future
A sad, hopeless place where something big
Or catastrophic was about to happen

No, It was our future
And it was the beginning of the end

It's raining
The sound seemed very calming at the time
I'm standing in the street
It's busy
People were all around
Walking past
Just staring at the ground, mumbling to themselves

They began speaking louder as they began to notice me
Voices all around
It seemed like I was supposed to listen to
Every little thing they were saying

I tried to focus on one, but they just all overlapped

Then there was more
And more
And more
And they were getting louder

I couldn't even think of my own thoughts
I was getting anxious
I was getting scared

And they got even louder
I can't understand why I couldn't make out their faces

The voices turned to screams
Then silence

I began to realize
None of this is real
And that's when... that's when I knew

We've always been corrupted
