God’s Economy

You wear your best to the houses of worship
And hold your Bibles out for all to see
You recite the Holy Scriptures that you see on the church marquee

You memorized the Ten Commandments
You say that pride comes before a fall
But you make promises to God you don't intend to keep
When your back's against the wall

You hear but you don't listen
You look but you don't see
You nod but you don't understand

You tell the choir you know all about Jesus
But does He know you, you've never thought to ask
Whose face do you see in the mirror when
You take off your mask
