Unwanted

Why did you go so suddenly
For we had only just begun
Like Millay said, "I shall forget you presently"
And now I know it will be done

You think you find a better place to be
You always think the grass is greener
But you will learn my worth in my absence
And by then it will not matter

For you will never be welcome
Into any part of my life again
You had me squarely at your mercy
Like a dog trying to befriend

I have so much to offer
I'm so willing to give
Because I knew and for that it's hard
To accept that you are capable of this

You condemned me without a word
For I know not what I have done

Condemned without a word of query
To this day I know not what I've done
Or what offense I've caused humanity this time
I'm the one you make such judgement upon

Because I see your lack of loyalty
Your treachery belittles everything I've ever done
Although I loved you just once
You make me vanish without a single word
My side would never really matter
I know that you've been slinging mud at me
And although I loved you you have won

So my antagonist derided me
For she did not know what she'd done
Too many people took exception to it
So then she had to say it, or she had to run

But there is nothing simple about this
It is not commonplace or fun
I simply could not abide another one of these
So if you block me you are done

So since this demon needed me to explain it
I guess I'm not such an evil one
But karma will make you answer
And rot in hell is what you've won

So as for the girl I was falling in love with
I know that she is gone
But she wears the face of a demon
And she says that I'm the evil one

She will not brush this off as she brushed off me
And a person not to trust she'll always be
So many of you
That tower so high
Above all of us
Thinking you can fly
But you're no different
You're just the same
You're just as petty
And you feel that blame
The piece of me that belonged to you
That you will never regain
