Jenny's Story (a story of love)
Here is a story someone told me 'bout a girl
About her tribulations I have heard a word or two
She isn't from around here, but she's everybody's friend
And though she loves a party, always leaves before the end
She's been alone for ever... people often ask her why
But now you'll hear the story of how
One night someone finally caught her eye...
Jenny went to a party one weekend
She was looking fierce
And feeling like a million dollars
Radiant, she glowed, she was magnetic
Everyone who saw her couldn't help but
Wanting her, and she was really happy to be seen
Charlie was there also, long hair flowing
Wearing fashion from a dollar store
And slowly working 'round the room
Content to be alone and not the star
Enjoying quiet conversations with new friends
Until Jenny walked by
Love is blind, that's what people have in mind
But that ain't true, and you can see it everywhere
People see... they think, and judge, and then get scared
But love sees too, and it just doesn't care
Sparks were flying, there was electricity
Around the room, when these two met
It was as if time stopped... just for them
A fairy tale, a romance novel, these things just don't
Ever happen, even back in pre-pandemic times
They talked all night about
Everything, they had so much in common
They couldn't believe they'd never met
At two o'clock they were kicked out and they went
Back to Jenny's place, and smoked a joint, and kissed
They knew the night was gonna progress
Love is blind, that's what people have in mind
But that ain't true, and you can see it everywhere
People see... they think, and judge, and then get scared
But love sees too, and it just doesn't care
Charlie, looking terrified, said, "Sorry,
There is something that I have to tell you
I have been transitioning for some time now
I'm not too sure just what you'll find when you
Take off my pants, but things are happening
And you have got to know"
"What the fuck?!" is what most people might say
"Here's your stuff, get out and be on your way"
But that isn't our Jenny, that isn't what she did
She smiled and shrugged, and laughed and hugged
And kissed her Charlie again, and again
It may not be too surprising when I tell you
Jenny and her Charlie are together still
And even more in love than either one of them
Could ever guess from such an odd beginning
See, equipment only matters if you let it
People matter so much more!
And that's the way my story ends
What Jenny saw, she never will report
People, see, then accept and then prepare for a
Great adventure, cause love just doesn't care
About her tribulations I have heard a word or two
She isn't from around here, but she's everybody's friend
And though she loves a party, always leaves before the end
