My Own Way To Burn

"Life is always on the edge of death
Narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues
And a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does
I choose my own way to burn"

Injustice explodes around me, hateful speech, bigotry
People are afraid, silenced once again, it's frightening to see
Fascist rhetoric is back with a vengeance, unfettered by society

"Life is always on the edge of death
Narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenue
And a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does
I choose my own way to burn"

Monuments
These monuments still stand proud
Mock the justice society desires
The fascist right attempts to divide us by starting fires

Every chance we get, we must fight against the hate
They stand there so proud, we've got to destroy them

We can't be complicit
We have to stand up
We have to keep fighting

We have to keep yelling
Or they will get what they want

Fascism caused slavery
Fascism destroys tolerance
They will destroy, destroy
We won't lie down
