Cold Nights

And remember cold nights winter storms
And we never ever had a alarm
Slept next to my siblings it kept me warm
Ain't have a pillow I used my arms

Nine kids a struggle you'll never know it tho
Everything she made she spend that at the grocery store
Sorry it took me so long to say thank you Thank you mama
And all them nights I prayed
I look back and thank god for this life I made
Cause Highschool i was labeled most likely to fail
Most likely to die or prolly rot up in jail
But look at me now the lights been found more successful than my teachers now Principle too in a coupe with the roof gone two tone with my shirt off
I just use this music shit to get my hurt off
Cause I remember ac off nigga wake up in sweat
Can't complain cause you know mama out here doing here best
Often times I ask ask was that really a test mic test one two one two

And remember cold nights winter storms
And we never ever had a alarm
Slept next to my siblings it kept me warm
Ain't have a pillow I used my arms

Uh
The first day school the worse
Mama had all them kids so In August we chewed her purse
What's even worse she paid tithes at church an love offering
She loved that place a lil too much that love costed
So the more I grew I thought about church the love lost it I lost love
And I'll do anything on earth to never end up like her
She dedicated her whole life to a blur
That shit made me question traditions
That's why I write my own rules to this mission
I ask for guidance from the lord if you listen
Cause I remember long night bussing them dishes
Scrubbing them pots praying for some granted wishes
Ran away from home you know I ran the distance
Felt my love was insufficient
Umm

And remember cold nights winter storms
And we never ever had a alarm
Slept next to my siblings it kept me warm
Ain't have a pillow I used my arms
